SafeKeep

Privacy policy

SafeKeep is a static site that collects as little as possible. Here's exactly what that means for your data — Google Analytics included, and how to turn it off.

SafeKeep is a static website that collects as little personal data as possible. We don't run user accounts, we don't sell data, and we don't ask you to log in. This page explains the few places data is involved so there are no surprises — which, on a site about security, is the least you should expect.

What we collect

We collect only what's needed to run the site and understand which guides are useful: Google Analytics 4, configured as described in the next section, and standard server logs kept for security and reliability. If you email us or subscribe to security alerts, we keep the address you provide solely to reply or to send what you asked for, and nothing else.

Analytics, disclosed in full

Since you'd expect a security site to be specific: we use Google Analytics 4, a product of Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd. The data it collects is limited to pages viewed, referring site, approximate location (city or country), device and browser type, and session timing. GA4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are off. None of it feeds advertising, and none of it is sold.

Consent works by region. Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland get a banner before anything happens, and no data goes to Google without a click on Accept. Visitors elsewhere have analytics on by default, with an off switch available at any time. A browser that transmits the Global Privacy Control signal is treated as opted out. The decision is recorded in your browser's local storage under the key analytics-consent; it is not a cookie.

Cookie settings reopens the banner whenever you want to change your analytics choice. For Google's processing, see Google's privacy policy. To block Google Analytics on every site, Google offers an official opt-out add-on.

The only cookies SafeKeep sets itself are Google Analytics' first-party _ga and _ga_<ID>, which last up to 2 years and appear only once analytics is allowed. When you click an affiliate link to a host, that host or its affiliate network may set a cookie on its own site to attribute a possible sign-up to us — that's how the commission that funds this site is tracked, and it happens on their domain under their privacy policy, not ours. You can browse SafeKeep without clicking any affiliate link. For how those links work, see our affiliate disclosure.

Your choices

You can turn analytics off from cookie settings, block cookies in your browser, use tracking protection, and unsubscribe from any email at any time using the link in it. If you'd like us to delete an email address you've shared with us, email [email protected] and we'll remove it. If we ever change this policy, the updated version will appear on this page; this version was last updated on October 9, 2026.
